How the numbers work
The number on khaki packaging paper is its size: the smaller the number, the smaller the bag. No. ¼ and No. ½ are the little bags used for sweets, spices, groundnuts and small hardware. No. 1 to No. 3 are the everyday shop sizes. The higher numbers are for bread, clothes, bulk dry goods and anything bulky.
Sizes are close between brands but not identical. If you are matching a bag you already use, bring one to the shop and we will find the same size.

Why it is sold by the kilo
Packaging paper comes from the factory in sacks, and shops sell it by weight because counting hundreds of small bags is slow. A kilo of No. ¼ holds many more bags than a kilo of No. 20. If you know how many bags you need, tell us and we will tell you roughly how many kilos that is.
Mafuko bags are made by Paperbags Ltd, and Dune by Dune Packaging, both Kenyan companies.
Other bags and wraps
Mkimon also stocks carrier bags (No. 15, 22, 25 and 32), Royal packing bags (5×8, 7×9, 7×12, 9×15), zipper bags, garbage bags, onion nets, cling film (Starwrap, Hanan) and aluminium foil (Royal, Velvex, Starwrap, Hanan).
